The Interop 2014 conference starts today in Las Vegas and among all the talk about networks, servers, cloud and virtualization, one technology trend will be discussed more than all others: SDN. Check out keynotes, panel sessions and product announcements and those three little letters are everywhere. Really, at this point they could just rename the show SDNterop.
But with all of this discussion of Software Defined Networking, one thing will remain true. A good portion of the people at Interop will have little or no understanding of just what SDN means. This includes attendees, vendor contacts and even some speakers.
So what can you do if you find yourself in a discussion of SDN and you’re thinking to yourself “WTF?”
